A revolutionary new development
The E-type Probe



Ingun have developed a unique test probe that is the test engineer's dream:


• It delivers higher throughput by reducing the number of 'Non-Genuine Defects' in almost all production environments. It achieves this due to a much higher pre-load of the probe spring, thus reducing the number of 'bounces' that need to be made when testing a board.
  
  
• This results in a double bonus as more boards can be successfully tested in a given time frame, and more boards can be tested within the life-span of the test probes themselves.
  
  
• The new probe works by increasing the initial pre-load pressure compared with industry standard test probes. The piercing action is thus greatly enhanced and the amount of 'wobble' is reduced. The aim of improving Contacting Reliability is thus achieved.
  
  
• Using a higher pre-load spring also has the advantage of minimising the importance of probe travel tolerance. Whether a probe tip is depressed by say 2mm or 4mm, the contact pressure is not greatly affected. You can therefore test both test pads and via holes without having to adjust the height of probes in your fixture.




User Test: Testing the same PCB with 1900 testpoints and 48,000 cycles. Summary: "The conclusion is that the E-type probe out-performs the standard probe significantly!"
