Tip Style Overview

Tip Style 01 (30° Tip)
Similar application as Flexi Tip Style, but less aggressive and not flexible.
Kopfform 01 Kopfform 01

Tip Style 02 (Flat Tip)
For contacting all clean contacting pads, such as Connector Terminals, Plug-in Card Connectors, especially when indentations are not desired.
Kopfform 02 Kopfform 02

Tip Style 03 (Inverse Crown)
Specifically designed for long Component Leads, Wire-Wrap Pins etc. Even bent pins can be probed within the tip diameter.
Kopfform 03 Kopfform 03

Tip Style 04 (Crown Tip)
One of the most commonly used Tip Styles. Applications: Solder Points, Component Leads, Test Pads etc.
Kopfform 04 Kopfform 04

Tip Style 05 (Bullet Nose)
Excellent contact to all circuitry, plated-through holes etc. without leaving indentations.
Kopfform 05 Kopfform 05

Tip Style 06 (Serrated Tip)
Universally suitable Tip Style. Application for testing all types of pins (Multipoint Plugs, Wire-Wrap Pins, Component Leads etc.).
Kopfform 06 Kopfform 06

Tip Style 07 (Trihedral Tip)
Usually applied for Bare Board Test and for contacting plated through holes. Used increasingly as direct substitute for Tip Style 01. Suitable as an interface contact in combination with a contact board with Bore and Bezel in the INGUN VIN Test Fixtures.
Kopfform 07 Kopfform 07

Tip Style 08 (Conical Tip)
This conical shaped Tip Style is used in particular where through-plated holes etc. on Bare Boards are to be contacted in such a way that no indentations on the PCB material result. Often combined with low spring forces. Also suitable for contacting of Plug-in Connectors and Multipoint Connectors.

Tip Style 09 (Flexi Tip, Sewing Needle Tip Style)
Due to its geometrical shape, this tip has high stability (i. e. the danger of sheering forces is reduced). Very aggressive contacting, for contaminated PCBs.
Kopfform 09 Kopfform 09

Tip Style 13 (Rounded Tip)
Suitable for Circuitry and Test Pads. The flat tip prevents indentations.
Kopfform 13 Kopfform 13

Tip Style 14 (Hollow Crown Tip)
With this modified form of a Four-Point Crown, the side flanks of the crown points have a hollow cavity, which prevents loose contaminants from accumulation at the bottom of the crown (self-cleaning).
Kopfform 14 Kopfform 14

Tip Style 15 (HSS Tip 22°)
Due to the hard-wearing HSS Tip, specially suitable for ruggedized operation on contaminated PCBs.

Tip Style 17 (Hexagonal, 90°)
The six knife-shape edges balance this tip when probing plated-through holes, i.e. similar characteristics as Tip Style 07, but more aggressive. Another universal Tip Style.
Kopfform 17 Kopfform 17

Tip Style 19(aggressive inverse cone, self-cleaning)
With this modified design of the tip-style 03 an aggressive contacting contour in the centre is created by applying cross grooves. Subsequently, a maximum of contacting reliability is achieved when contacting component pins and wire-wrap posts.
Kopfform 19 Kopfform 19

Tip Style 24 (Six-Pronged Crown with turned Middle Tip)
Universally applicable for almost all types of Test Points.
Kopfform 24 Kopfform 24

Tip Style 25 (6-point Crown with higher set Middle point)
Universal usage for practically all Test Points.
Kopfform 24 Kopfform 25

Tip Style 31
Drilled steel Tip: very aggressive with high stability for strongly contaminated boards.
Kopfform 31 Kopfform 31

Tip Style 33 (Three-Pronged Hollow Crown)
A modified form of the Four-Pronged Hollow Crown (see Tip Style 14). This Tip is ground so the edges are very aggressive. Can be used for contacting short Solder Pins and Test Pads. The nominal spring force is distributed between 3 points.
Kopfform 33 Kopfform 33

Tip Style 38 (Passive Dagger, 150° tip angle)
Comparable with Tip Styles 97 and 98, however with even flatter tip angle, for contacting Open Vias and Pads.
Kopfform 33 Kopfform 38

Tip Style 77 (aggressive Three-Pronged Crown)
Universally applicable for pads and open vias. Very similar to Tip Style 91, but less aggressive with 3 instead of two contacting edges. Strong Tip for rough production areas.
Kopfform 77 Kopfform 77

Tip Style 88 (aggressive Three-Pronged Crown)
Self-cleaning Eight-Pronged Crown with centering effect. Used for strongly contaminated Solder Pins and Component Leads.
Kopfform 88 Kopfform 88

Tip Style 89
Self-cleaning Three-Pronged Crown: for contacting of strongly contaminated boards. The design prevents loose contaminants (particles) from accumulation at the bottom of the crown.
Kopfform 89 Kopfform 89

Tip Style 91 (Dagger)
Very aggressive, universal Tip Style, designed for through holes (vias) and Test Pads.
Kopfform 91 Kopfform 91

Tip Style 93 (three pressed-in HSS-needles, 22°)
Due to its three very sturdy HSS-needles, this Tip Style is ideal for testing contaminated and oxidized PCBs.
Kopfform 93 Kopfform 93

Tip Style 97 (Passive Dagger)
Similar to Tip Style 91, but less aggressive for closed (sealed) vias.
Kopfform 97 Kopfform 97

Tip Style 98 (Passive Dagger, 30° tip angle)
Similar to Tip Style 97, but less aggressive for closed (sealed) vias.
Kopfform 97

Tip Style 006
0 0x: Partly insulated Tip for component presence check. The first "0" indicates the material (plastic), the following two numbers indicate the Tip Style (example: 912 006 230 A 1502).
